Can you imagine that? A defensive defenseman doesn't "drive play up ice" or tilt the possession metric in his teams favour? Wow. There must be no use at all in having players who know how to defend.  |

As a Leafs fan a "crease clearer" like McQuaid sounds just fine to me, especially for the playoffs.

I can’t stand tanner’s take. Yes, it’s a team game which is exactly the point as to why McDavid didn’t deserve it last year. McDavid had a teammate at least crack 70 points and they still couldn’t make the playoffs. Hall had nobody, but a rookie who logged 52 points. Take a lap |

I can’t stand tanner’s take. Yes, it’s a team game which is exactly the point as to why McDavid didn’t deserve it last year. McDavid had a teammate at least crack 70 points and they still couldn’t make the playoffs. Hall had nobody, but a rookie who logged 52 points. Take a lap

He basically said he wouldn’t over pay for McQuaid because he is pretty much one dimensional. He is a stay at home defenseman and that’s pretty much it. Is that not accurate?
